Watched a news story about a predominately Black town in the US being harassed by white supremacists and organized an armed neighborhood watch. Anchor man wonders aloud if “we” should be worried that “this” might catch on in other towns. Anchor woman says it’s caught on already! I want to share a lovely thing that happened this evening. I went out for a walk and as I neared a park, a kuia stopped her car, got out and called out to me.
She came up to me and thanked me for my submission on the TPB. She had seen it online, and people from her iwi had asked if she knew me. She said she did, and when she saw me walking, she followed me to the park just to express appreciation. It was the sweetest thing, made my day.
