February 16 is to draw attention to the plight of the world’s most trafficked animals, these magnificent scaly mammals. There 8 species of in Africa & Asia, all endangered, threatened by poachers for their meat & scales (used in traditional medicines) & by habitat loss & deforestation. This is the largest: the ground pangolin. I made him patterned & colourful to draw attention to him & his kin.
