What bothers me about the Trump 'presidential immunity' case is that this Supreme Court has already created a form of legal immunity from prosecution for any and all illegal, immoral, or unethical acts not only in the course of official duties, but when actively violating orders and training.
It's called #QualifiedImmunity and it indemnifies police from the consequences of any violent, racist, or intrusive action.
All the Supreme Court has to do is apply it to the presidency.
Or to put it another way:
Trump has always wanted to be king, not president. His aesthetic, as well as his leadership, are much more Louis XV than Andrew Jackson. [Maybe pre-Miranda Alexander Hamilton?]
He wants to be an aristocrat, a member of an unaccountable elite, respected for his mere existence and loved for his *ocassional* benevolence.
We have an unaccountable warrior aristocracy already, and it's no coincidence that their institutional representatives aggressively support Trump.
