For those who are interested in the accelerating ecosystem catastrophe within which we live, which is commonly understated as climate change, I have a question.
Do you think CO2 emissions are a significant issue?
If so, when do you think we should address that issue, now, or in 20 years?
This is the biggest question in the world today. Now, or someday?
Because if it's someday, building new things to do it seems rational.
But if we want to reduce now, building *anything* is counterproductive.
2. If we would like to see reductions now, what we should all be demanding is a halt to new highway construction.
Total halt.
Halt to new runways.
Halt to expanded seaports.
Halt to concrete construction.
To do these things with our right hands, while claiming to care about "the climate" with our left hands, is nearly the ultimate in either hypocrisy or cognitive dissonance.

3. All of these activities are increasing, and the Biden White House is tweeting their pride in this.
Since the day the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework passed I have been screaming bloody murder about the $110 billion of highway construction.
The concrete, which is a crime against humanity, ecocide, is barely a down payment on the total destruction.
And the sole purpose of this destruction is to enable us to drive more vehicles farther faster.
That's what highways are for. They work.
4. I'm really tired of seeing "halt fossil fuels."
I'm sorry, y'all, but - highways are what we do with fossil fuels. Building highways, . maintaining highways, and using highways, are three of the biggest uses of fossil fuels in the United States.
We're all letting our government - not the bad guys, not Joe Manchin or somebody, the Good Guys - build highway projects in all 50 states.

5. We all do realize that total fossil energy demand is going up every day, right?
It's going up - you can look this up - directly parallel to new projects, highways, factories, mines, steel, fiberglass, silicon crystal, glass, copper, lithium, cobalt, neodymium, and aluminum production and inclusion in products For The Climate.
That's what we're doing with all the new fossil fuels we're all protesting.
6. Once you have stuck your hand in the scorpion's nest it is foolish to dread the sting.
