Hi, I'm a gay cis male from Europe. I've been alive 30+ years and I still don't know how to live Life.

Open source social networks aren't new to me — I used identi.ca 15 years ago and I currently #selfhost two ActivityPub instances but they are too niche, so I was hoping this one would be more personal.

I have contributed to ~20 #FOSS projects even though I'm mostly a #macOS user.

I also happen to be a #gaymer who doesn't know how to game. #Sonic (Master System), #DonkeyKongCountry (GB), #SuperMarioAdvance (GBA), #StardewValley, #Rayman, #EuroTruckSimulator2, #HiddenFolks

#SarahAndersen's scribbles and #FoxesInLove is as much as I read and I haven't got much time for films/TV.

I enjoy #swimming, #cycling (pro-cycling and anti-car), I admire #ModelRailway (N gauge), and I love chocolate.

I was tested for Autism as a kid and came out negative; I still suck at being social but I'm trying my hardest. Sorry if I offend you. Also, it doesn't help the fact that English isn't my mother tongue.

I'm slowly getting excited for upcoming games like Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon, Baldur's Gate III, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. I feel like these three cover my bases, but I'm also interested in Sea of Stars, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Lords of the Fallen, and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (maybe with all the fixes it will be worth playing now).

My #introduction post:

I'm Jeff, a mid-30s #bisexual man living in #Seattle. I've worked for a couple of tech companies in the area and for a few years lived in Silicon Valley. Although I have a degree in #computerscience, I haven't programmed for a career since graduating college. When I do code for fun, it's usually in #dotnet #csharp or #python.

In my spare time I'm a #gaymer (PC and console), love to #travel to cities all over the world, and play around with all forms of technology. I'm converting my house into a #smarthome, doing #homenetworking projects way above my skill level, and dabbling in #raspberrypi and #microcontroller projects.

I expect that I'll mostly be posting photos from my trips, random thoughts on games/tech, and some gay/bi content as well. Feel free to follow and say hello!

The Sony State of Play was pretty great compared to today's Summer Game Fest presentation.

One thing I was actually interested in was Lies of P. After playing the demo, it very much feels like generic Bloodborne, and not in a good way. The level design isn't very interesting so far and the atmosphere is bland. The game mostly just proves that it's very difficult to duplicate the FromSoftware spark.
