...damnit, #AcrobatReader is _such_ a piece of crap nowadays.

It's been declining for years, constantly triggering "out of memory" errors when I opened up multiple PDFs at the same time. But I've reached my limit when it crashed multiple times when I tried to search a very simple three-page PDF - while displaying an " #AI Assistant" bar that I didn't ask for and cannot seem to switch off.

I've now installed SumatraPDF . #Adobe is not worth the aggravation.

Well, that's my #Adobe Photography subscription axed after eight years, thanks to the price hike. There were cancellation offers which were tempting but I think a clean break is the right decision. I'm moving over to #ON1 and #AffinityPhoto instead on perpetual licences.

god the latest big update to #adobe #premiere fucked everything up, mouse wheel scroll now zooms in and out on frame instead of advancing the timeline, I can't even figure out how to edit the elements in an overlay, I just...why? Why the fuck did they change all these core functions?? What is this, Blender?!?

(don't tell me to learn some opensource non-adobe shit. I'm already out of spoons).

We spent the weekend with members of The Earthbuilders Guild (TEG) in Albuquerque, a wonderful collective of largely indigenous earthen home builders. So inspiring! We stayed in a beautiful #adobe home and studied another that is under construction.

Building with local materials and #PassiveSolar design is the way. No concrete—horrible for the planet to produce and transport. Naturally cool in summer, warm in winter. Earth building is an ancient highly refined tech, so beautiful and embracing.

@Savvyhomestead Great article. The main issue is the Human Factor. As long there are people in the loop, "convenience" will always be at the top of the features.

I'm slowly weaning myself from #MS, #Adobe and other corp sw. Unfortunately, there aren't replacements for a few key apps. The main issue is ease of use. I don't know how to write code so I'm stuck sorting out bugs.

This has come about because of #Adobe's price hike on their Photography plan, from £10 to £15/mth. While I don't like software subscriptions, I tolerated the old price because I do like #Lightroom. With the increase though, it's a motivation to seek alternatives.

I don’t use them very often, but it’s absolutely insane to me that doesn’t provide downloads of their legacy pro suite. Ain’t no way I’m upgrading my OS just so I have the latest version — and I don’t know any other professional who would casually do that either.

Nothing says like inadequate support and legacy services. Do better, Adobe.
