We are focusing on stewarding the land by adding Indigenous varieties that are suited to the soil and the weather, and also those that are more drought tolerant. #bioregionalism #Tkaronto

Thanks for sharing! We live in Indiana in the 5a climate zone, so your plants all turn out to be compatible with our growing conditions also.
@PragmatistProf Glad you enjoyed the peek into my backyard. In the spirit of sister cities we could explore 'sister' properties. Have you been exploring native plants? And if so, what have you had success with?
@presandberg
We spent last year on removal of the worst of the invasive species (Japanese honeysuckle was the very worst) and are now doing the work to rebuild with sustainable plantings. We've left the lilac since it behaves well and the insects love it--and also a climbing rose. We will be planting native dogwood and crabapple trees soon, plus native spirea and other perennials. But lots of research happening for the moment!
