A handheld, at-home #water quality test created by a scientific start-up has received a $3 million grant. The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) will fund Northwestern project to develop and distribute water-quality test kits in the Chicago area. The #lead and #copper tests are based on #ROSALIND “#RNA output sensors activated by ligand induction” whereas #PFAS test will combine ROSALIND technology with new chemical technological breakthroughs. https://www.digitaljournal.com/tech-science/handheld-device-aims-to-allow-households-to-assess-drinking-water-safety-status/article
